So I know you all probably think I’m a scrooge or grinch from my last post. So I decided to list the things about Christmas that I do like to celebrate this day. First, the one and only Mariah Carey Christmas album with hits like “All I Want for Christmas” and “O Holy Night”. Let’s be honest. Who doesn’t like that album? I actually listen to it year round, so it isn’t technically something I like about the season, but it makes me feel less grinchy.
So you are probably wondering why I am posting a pumpkin recipe less than a week before Christmas. I’m going to be completely honest with you. I don’t really like Christmas. I think it’s over-commercialized, the malls are too crazy and Christmas trees make a mess on the floor. I know, I know I sound like a Grinch. I just love fall so much that I feel like Christmas cuts it short. So I try to extend it as much as possible. Plus, this was the recipe I have been waiting all fall for. Partially, because I used my new KitchenAid Pasta Attachments, which made this so simple. My friend told me they tasted like mini fried pumpkin pies in your mouth.
I went through a serious, unhealthy Groupon phase. For those that don’t know, if you go to groupon.com and sign up you get coupons to so many different things in your area. The coupons range from outdoor activities, home supplies, food, and anything else you can imagine. The best part was when I realized that every once in a while Groupon offers coupons on food classes. I’m already signed up for a Truffle Making Class in January (yummm, expect that to be a wonderful post). But the first class I went to was a bread making class, specifically titled “Dough Development”. Since my goal is to up my baking levels, I figured learning how to make my own bread would be a great step. Keep Reading…..
I’m very hard on myself about delivering at least one recipe every week. I had my recipe and instructions for how to make your bread all ready to post, until I realized that I didn’t have my picture of the final product with me.
I am currently away on business in Ohio. My pictures are currently away from me in my computer at home in California. I didn’t want to post something that wasn’t complete. So, unfortunately there will be no recipe this week.
All I can do to tease you about next week is promise that there will be a make your own bread tutorial. See you next week!
